Welcome the New Year with Powerful Islamic Prayers

Prayer for the First Day of Muharram (1st Muharram)
This prayer is recommended to be recited three times:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions! O Allah! You are Eternal, Ancient, the First. Your grace and beneficence are most exalted. You encompass all things and are the refuge of everything – may your generosity be most exalted. The new year has arrived. In this year, we seek Your protection from Satan, his allies, and his armies. We ask for Your help against the self that always commands evil. I implore Your assistance to engage in what brings me closer to You, O Allah, Lord of Majesty and Generosity! May Allah send blessings upon our unlettered Prophet Muhammad, his family, his blessed and pure companions! Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.”
Prayer for the First Ten Days of Muharram
The following prayer is recited:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! You are Eternal, Ancient, Living, Generous, Compassionate, and Bestower. In this new year, I seek Your protection from being expelled from divine mercy by Satan. I ask for Your help against the self that always commands evil. Again, I implore Your assistance to engage in what brings me closer to You, O Allah, Lord of Majesty and Generosity! Bestow upon me with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy!”
It is narrated that whoever recites this prayer three times each morning during the first ten days of Muharram, especially on the 1st and 10th (Ashura), Allah, the Almighty, will protect them from all calamities until the following year’s Muharram.
Prayer to be Recited Seven Times on 10th Muharram
After reciting seventy times:
“Allah is sufficient for me; He is the best disposer of affairs. He is my Lord and the best helper.”
One should then recite the following prayer seven times:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I glorify Allah with a measure equal to the fullness of the scales, to the extent of the ultimate degree of knowledge, in a manner He is pleased with, and according to the weight of the Throne. There is no refuge from Allah except from Allah; to Him we return. As many times as there are doubles and singles, and as many times as there are words of Allah that are complete, I glorify Him. O Most Merciful of those who show mercy, grant me safety with Your mercy. To be able to protect myself from sins and find strength in obedience is only through the guidance and help of the Exalted and Almighty Allah. He is sufficient for me; He is the best disposer of affairs. He is my Lord and the best helper. May Allah send blessings upon our most excellent Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions! Amen!”
