The world is hurtling toward its demise, with flames of war reaching the skies and missiles flying over cities. The audacity and recklessness of oppressors are rampant, and humanity has lost its direction, facing deep despair. This isn’t merely political or economic; it’s fueled by distorted beliefs and a global agenda. An Islamic system offers a path forward in confronting this pervasive corruption.
The Global System Masking as Reform
This system that leads humanity to self-destruction is a criminal one. Those who control it claim their actions are for reform, asserting they build while destroying, construct while burning, and liberate while enslaving. The Quran describes this situation: “And when they are told not to corrupt on earth, they say, ‘We are only bringing about improvement.’ But indeed, they are corrupters, but they do not know.” (Quran 2:11). This verse describes a mindset of corruption that has resurfaced in our time.
This mindset is hostile to humanity. It targets the peace of societies, the innate nature of people, families, generations, intellect, and faith, hiding its projects behind terms like progress, freedom, security, order, and civilization. Its true purpose is to create chaos and destruction. The Quran states: “Whenever they kindle a fire for war, Allah extinguishes it.” (Quran 5:64). This misguided mindset is purely evil; we cannot view it as a simple act of wrongdoing. It’s an organized, systematic, and global arson.
The Islamic System: A Life Project Against Corruption
The Quran describes those who engage in global arson as “those who, when they gain power, spread corruption throughout the earth and destroy crops and kill people.” (Quran 2:205). Today’s arsonists don’t just burn cities; they target the fertility of the land, the privacy of families, the innocence of children, the direction of intellect, and the connection between hearts and God. This is why corruption in our time isn’t solely through bombs but also through screens, algorithms, education models, consumerism, pleasure industries, and false promises of freedom.
The Need for an Islamic System and Responsibility for Revival
There has never been a greater need for the peace, security, and order of Islam. An Islamic system is the will to place humans, societies, and the universe according to God’s measurements. Its essence is justice, mercy, safety, wisdom, modesty, and servitude to God alone. We must rise up with the splendor of this system illuminating our horizons, confront the destroyers, and be as diligent as they are. Today, our greatest obligation as Muslims is to replace the current order with an Islamic system. This replacement will begin with tawhid in the heart, direction in character, mercy in families, justice in institutions, trust in society, and a search for peace in the world.
When we speak of an Islamic system, we are not talking about a utopia. We are talking about a life project that prioritizes the re-ordering of humans and societies according to God’s measurements. Islam views human beings not as abandoned entities but as servants, vicegerents, and trustees. Therefore, it does not treat any area of life separately from morality. Economics is inseparable from ethics, politics from justice, technology from wisdom, education from character development, family from innate nature, and law from mercy. If separated, what appears to be an order is actually a mechanism of corruption.
The Islamic Understanding of Humanity and Boundaries
Today’s global system often views humans as consumers, producers, voters, customers, users, or data sources. Islam sees humans first and foremost as “servants of God.” When this perspective changes, the entire system changes. Wealth becomes a trust rather than an unlimited accumulation tool. Power becomes a responsibility to uphold justice, not a means of domination. Knowledge becomes a gateway to wisdom, not a tool for arrogance and manipulation. Technology becomes a beneficial opportunity, not a control system that surrounds humans. Family becomes a center of innocence, mercy, and character development, not just a biological or legal union. Education becomes a training regimen that shapes human character, not merely a mechanism for acquiring professions.
The Islamic system is not only offering moral lessons to the current system; it’s a fundamental alternative. The center of the modern system often includes unlimited desires, unlimited profits, unlimited power, and unlimited intervention. Islam sets boundaries on all of these. Human desires are not limitless; they are disciplined with halal and haram. Capital is not limitless; it is limited by principles such as zakat, charity, rights of others, and fair distribution. The state is not limitless; it is restricted by the principles of justice, competence, consultation, and trust. Technology is not limitless; it cannot violate human dignity, privacy, intellect, or generations. Freedom is not limitless; it is balanced with responsibility, servitude, and the rights of others.
Faith, Righteous Deeds, and the Prophet’s Example
The most fundamental difference in the Islamic system is that it places a person’s accountability to their Lord above the current system, which centers on self-interest. The current system views the world as an object to be owned, consumed, and governed; Islam considers the world a trust. The current system produces laws for the powerful; Islam protects the rights of the righteous. The current system counts multiplying pleasures as progress; Islam calls humanity to perfection, piety, and righteous deeds.
The Spiritual Foundation of the Islamic System
Our Book constantly mentions faith and righteous deeds together. Faith is more than a mere acceptance hidden in the heart; it’s a living truth that transforms a person’s being, behavior, and relationship with the world. The connection between faith and righteous deeds is like the relationship between an object and its shadow; when one exists, the other emerges as its natural consequence. Deeds that lose their connection with faith cannot acquire the quality of righteous deeds; even if they claim to be a reform project, they will not lead humanity to the perfection God intends. Therefore, our efforts at reform must be a necessary result of our faith. Our faith requires us to act and participate in reform projects.
The Islamic system is not merely an abstract idea that stands in books; it has taken flesh and bone in the blessed life of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). His example is the most authentic measure, showing how Islam manifests itself in human character, families, societies, states, markets, wars, and peace. Therefore, anyone who wants to understand the Islamic system must first look at the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Because his life is a concrete example of how revelation can manifest itself in human personality, family, society, state, market, war, and peace.
Confronting Global Arson with the Islamic System
Today, the greatest trial for the good people is that they are not as organized as the evildoers. The evildoers work day and night for their evil deeds. Destroyers plan, establish institutions, create language, develop technology, and surround the minds of generations. We must be as diligent as they are, to reach the hearts of young people, bring peace to families, inspire trust in society, and answer contemporary questions with wisdom. A goodness that cannot deliver its message beautifully will remain ineffective, even if it is true.
Unity and Responsibility for Reform Against Global Arson
We must be able to identify the modern arsonists well and stand against them. Our Quran warns believers of the danger of disunity: “Those who disbelieve are allies of one another. But you have certainly come to disagree. And if Allah had not appointed a measure for conflict, [it] would have been clear to you.” (Quran 8:73). We cannot be passive spectators of the fire kindled by global arsonists. We must gather our disunity, revive society from families, and participate in a reform march shoulder-to-shoulder with the righteous.
The fire of global arson can only be extinguished by the mercy of the Islamic system. Replacing the current order with the Islamic system is our most truthful duty and the most important debt we owe. This world is not a place for plunder by corrupt arsonists, but a legacy promised to Allah’s righteous servants. Being worthy of that legacy requires making righteousness the goal of our lives.
Our Lord! Make us among those who improve the earth rather than those whose lives are wasted in corruption. Bless our hearts with tawhid, our deeds with sincerity, our journey with direction, and grant us the supplication: “Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous.” Let this be absent from our tongues, hearts, and states. Amen.
