"In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. May Allah's blessings and peace be upon our Master Muḥammad, his family, his Companions (ṣaḥāba), and those sent in peace. O Allah! You are the Eternal, the Pre-Existent, the First; Your grace is exalted, Your being is all-encompassing. We turn to You. Here, a new year has arrived. We ask You for protection in it from Shayṭān (Satan), his awliyāʾ (friends, allies), and his armies, and for Your help against this nafs al-ammāra (the commanding/lower self), and to be occupied with deeds that bring me closer to You. O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity! May Allah's blessings and peace be upon Muḥammad, the unlettered Prophet of the ummah, his family, and his pure, clean Companions (ṣaḥāba). All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
Supplications for the First Ten Days of Muharram
Translation:
"In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. O Allah! You are the Eternal, the Pre-Existent, the Living, the Generous, the Most Compassionate, the Bestower; here is a new year. I ask You in this year for protection from the accursed Shayṭān (Satan), and for Your help against this nafs al-ammāra (the commanding/lower self), and to be occupied with deeds that bring me closer to You, O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity! By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful."
According to narration, whoever recites this supplication three times every morning during the first ten days of Muharram will, by the grace of Allah Most High, be protected from all calamities until the following year.
Supplications to Be Recited Seven Times on ʿĀshūrāʾ (10th of Muharram)
Recite the following phrase seventy times:
"Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. What an excellent Protector and what an excellent Helper!" Then recite the following supplication seven times:
"In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Glory be to Allah, as much as fills the scale, as much as the utmost limit of knowledge, as much as the extent of satisfaction, and as much as the weight of the Throne! There is no refuge and no escape from Allah except to Him. Glory be to Allah, as many times as the even and the odd, and as many as all of Allah's perfect words. I ask You for well-being by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful! There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. He is sufficient for me; what an excellent Disposer of affairs, what an excellent Protector, and what an excellent Helper! May Allah's blessings and peace be upon our Master Muḥammad, the best of His creation, and upon his family and all his Companions (ṣaḥāba). Āmīn."
