How to pray in Berat night? How to revive Berat night? What to do on Berat night
Allah the Exalted says:
“He is the Forgiver of sins, the Reliever of affliction, and the Knower of what you do.” (Surah Ash-Shura, 25)
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“When the fifteenth night of Sha’ban arrives, rise in worship during its night. And fast during its day. For when the sun sets on that night, Allah Almighty descends to the nearest heaven (in a state whose nature is unknown to us) and until dawn breaks: ‘Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness so I may forgive him? Is there anyone who asks for sustenance so I may provide it for him? Is there anyone afflicted with a trial so I may relieve him? Is there such and such?’” (Ibn Maja, H. no: 1388)
HOW TO REVIVE BERAT NIGHT
Berat night important worships are included after the evening prayer. Three recitations of Surah Yasin are recited after the fifteenth, Berat night evening prayer, and the Berat supplication is performed at the end of each recitation. The first recitation of Yasin-i Sharif is read with the intention of being among Allah’s blessed servants, the second time for a long and auspicious life, and the third time to be free from misfortunes and calamities and for a good livelihood.
In addition, Berat night one hundred rak’ahs are performed after Isha, giving salam every two rak’ahs. In each rak’ah, ten repetitions of Ihlâs-i Sharif are recited after the Fatiha. If one is not able to recite ten repetitions of Ihlâs-i Sharif, he can recite five or three times. After this prayer is completed, he will be able to recite as much salawat-i sharifa as possible, repent and seek forgiveness with a pure heart, and request and supplicate Allah Almighty for his worldly and hereafter needs. May our Lord grant us the opportunity to benefit from this night in its entirety. Amen!
O Allah! You who bestow countless blessings and favors upon Your servants, who do not need their reward! O my Lord of Majesty and Generosity! You are the one who bestows endless blessings and opportunities on Your humble servants! There is no god but You! You help those who seek refuge in You! You are the only resort for those who fear and take refuge in You!
O my Lord, if you have written me in your book with You, in the Preserved Tablet, as a bad, deprived, banished from divine mercy, poor person, then erase this evil fate of mine with Your grace; O Allah! If I am destined to live a life of hardship, being rebellious, deprived, banished from divine presence, then write me in your main book among Your righteous servants, those whose livelihood is abundant, rich and successful in good deeds.
O Allah! -Your word is the truth- As stated on the tongue of the Prophet of Honor, you said in the sacred Book sent by You: “Allah removes [what He wills] and confirms [what He wills]. All of the books are originally with Him.” (Surah Ra’d, 39)
Divine! As you commanded in the revered month of Sha’ban, which is known to us as the greatest manifestation of “Every wise decision is separated from it by a command at its time,” (Surah Duhan, 4), we ask You to remove the calamities and misfortunes that You know but we do not. Surely You are the Lord with infinite power and strength! Our Lord who is generous and bountiful!
O Allah! Send blessings and peace upon our Master, our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, his family, his companions, his offspring, and his pure wives! Accept our prayers in the respect of your beloved! Amen!..
