Seek Blessings and Protection with a Dua Recited During the First 10 Days of Muharram!
The first ten days of Muharram represent an important period in the Islamic world. The virtue of prayers performed during this time is immense. This dua, recommended to be recited in the morning on the 1st and 10th (Ashura) days of Muharram, is an opportunity for spiritual strength and divine assistance.
A DUA TO RECITE THREE TIMES DURING THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF MUHARRAM
Arabic Text:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْاَبَدِيُّ الْقَدِيمُ الْحَيُّ الْكَرِيمُ الْحَنَّانُ الْمَنَّانُ وَهٰذِهِ سَنَةٌ جَدِيدَةٌ اَسْئَلُكَ فِيهَا الْعِصْمَةَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ. وَالْعَوْنَ عَلَى هَذِهِ النَّفْسِ اْلأَمَّارَةِ بِالسُّوءِ وَالْاِشْتِغَالَ بِمَا يُقَرِّبُنِى اِلَيْكَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَاْلاِكْرامِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Meaning:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
“O Allah! You are Eternal, Ancient, Alive, Noble, Gentle, and Bestowing.
I ask You in this new year to protect me from the accursed Satan through Your divine mercy.”
“I seek Your help against this soul that commands evil.”
“And I seek Your help to be engaged with what brings me closer to You, O Allah, Lord of Majesty and Generosity!”
“Bestow upon me through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!”
The virtue of this dua is great. According to narrations, reciting it three times in the morning during the first ten days of Muharram, especially on the 1st and 10th (Ashura) days, will ensure that Allah, the Exalted, protects that person from all calamities until the following year’s Muharram.
