The Dua Recommended by Our Prophet (PBUH) to Recite After Prayers
Rasulullah -sallallahu alayhi wa sallam-, one day holding the hand of Mu’adh -may Allah be pleased with him- said:
“–O Mu’adh! I swear by Allah, I truly love you.” Mu’adh -may Allah be pleased with him- replied:
“–May my mother and father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I too love you very much!”
THE PRAYER RECOMMENDED BY OUR PROPHET (PBUH) TO RECITE AFTER EVERY PRAYER
Then the Prophet -sallallahu alayhi wa sallam- said to him:
“–O Mu’adh! I advise you not to cease making this supplication at the end of every prayer:
«O Allah! Grant me assistance in remembering You,
in giving thanks to You, and
in worshipping You in the best possible way!» (Ahmed, V, 244-245; Abu Dawud, Vitir, 26; Nasa’i, Sehv, 60; Tirmidhi, Zuhd, 30)
What a beautiful manifestation of love! The Messenger of Allah loves his brother in faith and gives advice that his believing brother can benefit from as a sign of this love.
