The Most Virtuous Dhikr, Prayers, and Sayings Mentioned by Our Prophet
Our Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- taught us the most excellent forms of worship. In this article, we will examine the most virtuous dhikr (remembrance), prayers, and sayings mentioned by our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The Most Virtuous Dhikr: Lā Ilāha İllallah
Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“The most virtuous dhikr is
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ
‘Lā ilāha illallah (There is no god but Allah),’
h3>
The Most Virtuous Prayer: Alhamdülillah
the most virtuous prayer is
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ
‘Alhamdülillâh (All praise belongs to Allah).” (Tirmidhi, Du’a 9)
The Prayer and Most Virtuous Saying Made on the Day of Arafah
Again, our Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him-, in another honorable hadith:
“The most virtuous prayer is that made on the Day of Arafah. The most virtuous words said by me and the prophets before me are:
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَدِيرٌ
‘Lā ilāhe illallâhu vahdehû lâ şerîke leh, lehü’l-mülkü ve lehü’l-hamdü wa huwa ‘alâ külli şey’in kadîr.’ (There is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him, praise be to Him, and He is capable of all things).” (Tirmidhi, Du’a 126)
