The Noble Salawat Narrated by Hz. Ali: Text, Meaning, and Virtues

The Noble Salawat Narrated by Hz. Ali (r.a.) from the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.)

Hz. Hussein radiyallahu anh narrated that his father, Ali bin Abi Talib radiyallahu anh, said:

THE NOBLE SALAWAT NARRATED BY HZ. ALI (R.A.)

“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, counted the salawat with my fingers and said: ‘Gabriel alayhisselam counted these with my fingers and said, ‘The Exalted and Majestic Lord revealed this salawat in this manner’:

اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ،اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ،اَللّٰهُمَّ وَتَرَحَّمْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا تَرَحَّمْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ،اَللّٰهُمَّ وَتَحَنَّنْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا تَحَنَّنْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ،اَللّٰهُمَّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا سَلَّمْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

“O Allah! Bestow blessings upon Muhammad and his family, as You bestowed blessings upon Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory.

O Allah! Grant prosperity and blessings upon Muhammad and his family, as You granted prosperity and blessings upon Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory.

O Allah! Bestow mercy upon Muhammad and his family, as You bestowed mercy upon Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory.

O Allah! Show affection and tenderness towards Muhammad and his family, as You showed affection and tenderness towards Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory.

O Allah! Grant peace and safety to Muhammad and his family, as You granted peace and safety to Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory.”
