Guaranteeing the Acceptance of Your Prayer: Dua Made Between Two Salams Is Not Rejected
Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a hadith:
“The prayer made between two salutations of peace is not rejected.”

Abū Sulyamān ad-Dārānī (d. 215/830), one of the early ascetics, said:
“When you make a request from Allah Almighty, begin your supplication with sending salutations upon our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then make the supplication you desire. Afterward, conclude your prayer with salutations upon the Most Noble Messenger. Allah Almighty is so generous that He will accept those two salutations of peace and not reject the prayer made between them.” (Ghazali, The Revival of Religious Sciences, I, 206.)
Salutations: The Key to Prayers Reaching the Heavens
Again, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in another hadith:
“The prayers are prevented from reaching the heavens; but then salutations are sent upon me, and the prayer rises to the heavens.” (Source for this and the previous hadith could not be found)
According to a narration by Haneš ibn Abdillah (may Allah be pleased with him) from his maternal uncle Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) would, after saying “O Lord, accept my prayer,” send salutations upon our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again and say:
“O Allah! I implore You to grant my messenger, Your servant, prophet, and messenger, Muhammad, a blessing more precious than the blessing You have bestowed upon all mankind. Amen.”
