What prayers and acts of worship should be performed during the Three Months?
The Three Months, encompassing the blessed months of Recep, Sha’ban, and Ramadan, hold great significance in the Islamic world. This period also includes special days and nights such as Regaip, Isra’, Miraj, Berat, and Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Power).
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged taking advantage of these blessed days and nights (Bukhari, Sawm, 6 [1901]; Muslim, Salat al-musafirīn, 175 [760]; Bayhaqi, Ma‘rifat al-sunan wa’l-asār, 4/420 [6676]) and himself did so (Tirmidhi, Sawm, 39 [739]; Ibn Majah, Iqāmat as-salawat, 191 [1389]; see Nawawi, al-Majmu‘, 5/42-43). However, there are no specific prayer or worship forms prescribed for these special days and nights in the Quran and Sunnah. Therefore, it is important to view these blessed days and nights as opportunities for repentance, supplication (dua), reading and understanding the Qur’an, and performing supererogatory (nafl) or missed prayers.

The Prophet’s Prayer during the Three Months
The Three Months are months in which Allah’s mercy intensifies. We should take advantage of these months to increase our hereafter capital.
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) made this supplication for his Ummah:
“O Our Allah! Bless Recep and Sha’ban, and bring us to Ramadan.” (Tabarani, Awsat, IV, 189; Bayhaqi, Shu‘ab, V, 348. See Ahmed, I, 259)
Spending the Three Months with prayer and repentance will increase our hope for acceptance of our prayers.
