The Story Behind the Prayer
Allah’s Messenger ﷺ, when our Beloved Prophet passed away, the Sahabah (companions) were at the peak of grief. They were as if a candle melting away. For they realized that hearts deeply attached to him, unable to endure even a single day without seeing him, would never see him again in this world.
ABDULLAH BIN ZAYD’S (R.A.) ACCEPTED PRAYER
Unable to bear this separation and anguish, Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), opened his hands in supplication to Allah with a sorrowful heart:
“O Allah! Blind my eyes! Let me not see anything in this world after I have lost my beloved Prophet!” He implored, and immediately became blind.
