Meaning of the “Allahummagfirli Hadīyatī wa Jah lī” Dua
Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the following supplication:
“O Allah! Forgive my errors, what I did out of ignorance, exceeding bounds in my actions, and any shortcomings You know better about me. O Allah! Forgive my subtleties, my seriousness, what I have done unintentionally, and what I have done intentionally. I confess that all these flaws are within me.” (Bukhari, Du’a, 60; Muslim, 70)
Arabic Recitation of the “Allahummagfirli Hadīyatī wa Jah lī” Dua
AllāhummagfirLī hadīyatī wa jah lī, wa mā ālāhu min ‘azmī wa min küsūrī illā ma ‘elemta. Allāhummagfir Lī latā’ifī wa majāhirī wa hafawātī wa mukābirātī, wa atahtī wa iqtirābī. Wa ‘urifi bi-kullil küsūri fiyye innaka samī‘un ‘alīm.
