Allahümme Eslemtü Nefsi İleyke Dua: Arabic Recitation, Turkish Meaning and Significance
According to a narration from Bara’ ibn ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“When you want to lie down in your bed, perform ghusl like performing ablution. Then lie on your right side and recite this supplication: ‘Allahümme eslemtü nefsî ileyke…’ Let this be the last of your words that night. If you die, you will die upon faith.”

Allâhümme eslemtü nefsî ileyke wa wajjahtu wajhî ileyke wa fawwaztu amrî ileyke wa alj’atu zahrî ileyka, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayka, lâ maljaa wa-lâ manja minka illā ilayka. Âmentu bi-kitâbikellezî enzelte wa nabiyyikellezî ersalte.”
Meaning of the Dua
O Allah! I have surrendered my soul to You, and I have turned my face towards You, and I have entrusted my affairs to You, and I lean upon my back with reliance on You. I seek refuge in You out of hope and awe, there is no place of safety or refuge from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed and Your Prophet whom You sent.”
