Allahumma Aʿūdhu Bi Riḍāka Supplication: Meaning, Recitation, and Virtue

This important dua (supplication), made by the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), contains the themes of seeking refuge in Allah and turning to Him. Here are the Arabic recitation, Turkish meaning, and virtues of the supplication "Allahumma aʿūdhu bi riḍāka min saḫaṭika wa bi muʿāfātika...":

Recitation: Allahumma aʿūdhu bi riḍāka min saḫaṭika wa bi muʿāfātika min ʿuqūbatika wa aʿūdhu bika minka lā uḥṣī thanāʾan ʿalayka anta kamā athnayta ʿalā nafsika.

Meaning: O Allah! I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath. I seek refuge in Your pardon from Your punishment! O Allah, I seek refuge in You from You. I am unable to praise You as You ought to be praised. You are as You have praised Yourself.” (Muslim, Ṣalāt, 222)

This supplication expresses our devotion to Allah and our need to seek refuge in Him.
