How to Recite the Allâhümme innâ nesteînüke Prayer (Kunut Prayer)?
The word kunût, which literally means “to obey, to be humble, to worship, to stand firm,” is defined in Islamic jurisprudence as “to obey, to supplicate, and to seek refuge with Allah in prayer from any evil or to attain goodness.”
It is established through authentic hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) recited kunût on various occasions. While there is consensus regarding the permissibility of kunût, different schools of thought hold varying opinions concerning its ruling and when/where it should be recited within prayer. Allâhümme innâ nesteînüke ve nestağfiruke wa nestehdîk. Wa nu’minü bike wa nataubu ileyk. Wa natawakkalu aleyk wa nusnî aleykel-hayra küllehû neşküruke wa lâ nekfüruk. Wa nahleu wa natruku men yefcüruk.
Meaning of the Allâhümme İnnâ Nesteînüke Prayer
O Allah! We beseech You for help, forgiveness and guidance. We believe in You, we repent to You. We place our trust in You. We are grateful for all the blessings You have granted us, and we do not deny any of them nor attribute them to anyone else. We abandon those who reject Your blessings and disobey You.
