What is the “Allâhümme innī es’aluka mucibāti” prayer for?
Our Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him – recited the following supplication:
Recitation: Allâhümme innī as’aluka mujībāti rahmelike wa azāime maghfirati-ke wa’s-salāmata min kulli ismin wa’l-ganīmati min kulli birrin wa’l-fawza bi’l-jannati wa’n-najāti mina’n-nār.
Meaning: “O Allah! I beseech You for that which brings forth Your mercy, and enables Your forgiveness; and safety from every sin, and gain from every righteousness, and attainment of Paradise, and deliverance from the Fire.” (Hakim, al-Mustadrak, I, 525. Also see Tirmidhi, Vitr 17)
