What is the purpose of the supplication “Allahümme inni eüzü bike min şerri sem’i ve min şerri basari…”?
The Noble Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him – recited this supplication to protect himself from all kinds of evil:
Recitation:
“Allahümme inni eüzü bike min şerri sem’i ve min şerri basari wa min şerri lisani wa min şerri kalbi wa min şerri meniyyi.”
Meaning:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, my sight, my tongue, my heart and from the evil of my sexual desire.” (Abu Dawud, Witir 32; Tirmidhi, Daawat 74)
