What is the purpose of the “Allahumme rabbe hazihi’d da’veti’t tamme…” prayer?
Our Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- awaits this supplication from those who hear the call to prayer (adhan). Here’s the Arabic recitation, Turkish meaning, and virtues of the “Allahumme rabbe hazihi’d da’veti’t tamme…” prayer:
Recitation:
“Allahumme Rabbe hezihi’d-da’veti’t-tâmme. Vesselatil kâimeti âti Muhammedenil vesilete vel fazîlete vebashu makâmen Mahmudenillezi waadteh.”
Meaning:
«O Lord of this perfect supplication (invocation) and the performed prayers! Grant Muhammad -peace and blessings be upon him- the means (intercession), virtue (praise), and raise him to the Praised Station that You have promised.»
It has been announced that intercession will be sought for the person who recites this supplication on the Day of Judgment. (Bukhari, Adhan, 8; Abu Dawud, Salat, 37/529)
