Dua for Success in Exams
Every student experiences exam anxiety. To alleviate this worry and seek help from Allah, there are supplications that can be recited. The following provides a dua (supplication) for success in exams, its meaning, and a dua to strengthen memory.

“O Allah! Make what You have taught me beneficial to me, teach me that which is beneficial to me, and grant me knowledge with which I can benefit.” (Hakim, De’avat, No: 1879, Vol. 1, p. 510)
Dua to Strengthen Memory
According to a narration by Ibn Abbas -may Allah be pleased with him-, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) advised Ali ibn Abi Talib -may Allah be pleased with him- the following dua to strengthen memory and overcome forgetfulness:
اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِى بِتَرْكِ الْمَعَاصِى أَبَدًا مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِى وَارْحَمْنِى أَنْ أَتَكَلَّفَ مَا لاَ يَعْنِينِى وَارْزُقْنِى حُسْنَ النَّظَرِ فِيمَا يُرْضِيكَ عَنِّى اللَّهُمَّ بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ وَالْعِزَّةِ الَّتِى لاَ تُرَامُ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَنُ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَنُورِ وَجْهِكَ أَنْ تُلْزِمَ قَلْبِى حِفْظَ كِتَابِكَ كَمَا عَلَّمْتَنِى وَارْزُقْنِى أَنْ أَتْلُوَهُ عَلَى النَّحْوِ الَّذِى يُرْضِيكَ عَنِّى اللَّهُمَّ بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ وَالْعِزَّةِ الَّتِى لاَ تُرَامُ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَنُ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَنُورِ وَجْهِكَ أَنْ تُنَوِّرَ بِكِتَابِكَ بَصَرِى وَأَنْ تُطْلِقَ بِهِ لِسَانِى وَأَنْ تَفَرِّجَ بِهِ عَنْ قَلْبِى وَأَنْ تَشْرَحَ بِهِ صَدْرِى وَأَنْ تَغْسِلَ بِهِ بَدَنِى لأَنَّهُ لاَ يُعِينُنِى عَلَى الْحَقِّ غَيْرُكَ وَلاَ يُؤْتِيهِ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيمِ
“O Allah! Have mercy on me by abandoning sins as long as You keep me alive, and have mercy on me from taking on what does not concern me. Grant me a good view of that which pleases you. O Creator of the heavens and the earth! O Allah! O Most Merciful! By Your majesty and the light of Your face, I ask You to compel my heart to memorize Your Book as You taught it to me, and grant me to recite it in the manner that pleases You. O Creator of the heavens and the earth! By Your majesty and the light of Your face, I ask You to illuminate my sight with Your Book, to loosen my tongue with it, to open my heart with it, to expand my breast with it, and to cleanse my body with it. For none can help me in truth except You, nor can He give it but You. There is no power and no strength except in Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent.”
