Dua to Recite Before Entering an Exam
This is a meaningful prayer that those who want to achieve success in the exam can recite before the exam. This prayer includes asking for help and ease from Allah.
Arabic Version of the Exam Prayer:
- Allahümme’nfa’nî bima ‘allemtenî wa ‘allimnî ma yenfeunî verzugni ilmen tenfeunî bihî.
Recitation of the Exam Prayer:
“Allahümme’nfa’nî bima ‘allemtenî wa ‘allimnî ma yenfeunî verzugni ilmen tenfeunî bihî.”
Meaning of the Exam Prayer:
“O Allah! Make what You have taught me beneficial to me, teach me what is beneficial to me, and grant me knowledge with which I can benefit.” (Hakim, Dawawat, No: 1879, I, 510)
Dua to Strengthen Memory
According to the narration of Ibn Abbas -may Allah be pleased with him-, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) advised Hz. Ali -may Allah be pleased with him- to recite the following prayer to strengthen memory and get rid of forgetfulness:
اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِى بِتَرْكِ الْمَعَاصِى أَبَدًا مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِى وَارْحَمْنِى أَنْ أَتَكَلَّفَ مَا لاَ يَعْنِينِى وَارْزُقْنِى حُسْنَ النَّظَرِ فِيمَا يُرْضِيكَ عَنِّى اللَّهُمَّ بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ وَالْعِزَّةِ الَّتِى لاَ تُرَامُ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَنُ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَنُورِ وَجْهِكَ أَنْ تُلْزِمَ قَلْبِى حِفْظَ كِتَابِكَ كَمَا عَلَّمْتَنِى وَارْزُقْنِى أَنْ أَتْلُوَهُ عَلَى النَّحْوِ الَّذِى يُرْضِيكَ عَنِّى اللَّهُمَّ بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ وَالْعِزَّةِ الَّتِى لاَ تُرَامُ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَنُ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَنُورِ وَجْهِكَ أَنْ تُنَوِّرَ بِكِتَابِكَ بَصَرِى وَأَنْ تُطْلِقَ بِهِ لِسَانِى وَأَنْ تُفَرِّجَ بِهِ عَنْ قَلْبِى وَأَنْ تَشْرَحَ بِهِ صَدْرِى وَأَنْ تَغْسِلَ بِهِ بَدَنِى لأَنَّهُ لاَ يُعِينُنِى عَلَى الْحَقِّ غَيْرُكَ وَلاَ يُؤْتِيهِ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيمِ
“O Allah! Have mercy on me by abandoning sins as long as You keep me alive, and have mercy on me from undertaking what does not concern me. Grant me a good view of that which pleases you. O Creator of the heavens and the earth! O Allah! O Most Merciful! By Your majesty and the light of Your face, I ask You to compel my heart to memorize Your book as You taught it to me, and grant me to recite it in the manner that pleases You. O Creator of the heavens and the earth! By Your majesty and the light of Your face, I ask You to illuminate my sight with Your book, to loosen my tongue with it, to open my heart with it, to expand my chest with it, and to wash my body with it, for there is no one who can help me in truth except You, nor does He give it except You. There is no power or strength except in Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent.”
