The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) shares the supplication believers will recite while crossing the Bridge of Sirat.
The Messenger of Allah –sallâllâhu aleyhi ve sellem– describes these terrifying moments:
SUPPLICATION TO RECITE WHILE CROSSING THE BRIDGE OF SIRAT
“The motto of the believers on the Bridge of Sirat is: ‘O Lord, grant me safety, grant me safety!’ (Tirmidhi, Qiyamah, 9/2432)
“…Those who cross the Sirat first will pass at the speed of lightning… Then like the wind, then like a bird’s flight and like a man running swiftly. Their deeds will carry them in this way. At this time, your Prophet stands at the head of the Sirat and constantly says:
‘O Lord, grant me safety, grant me safety!’ This continues until people’s actions fail to allow them to pass through the Sirat. Then a person comes, unable to walk, trying to crawl. There are hooks hanging on either side of Siraat. They are tasked with catching those they are commanded to seize. Some people are caught and wounded by these hooks and are saved, while others are thrown into Hell.” (Muslim, Iman, 329)
