Why is it important to recite this prayer when entering your car?
Seeking refuge in Allah with short and effective supplications while using the vehicles we frequently use in our daily lives is both a tradition and a source of spiritual peace. The dua recited before getting into a car expresses hope for a safe journey and bestows blessings upon you.
Dua to Recite When Entering Your Car (Surah Az-Zukhruf)
According to narration from our Prophet (PBUH), a person who enters a car (or any means of transportation) and recites the following prayer will die in that vehicle without returning, they are considered a martyr:
Recitation: “…Subhanallazî sehhara lenâ hazâ wa mā kunnā lahū mukrinīn. Wa innā ilā Rabbinā le münkali-bûn.”
Meaning: “…Glory be to Him who has subjugated this for us, and we were not worthy of it. Indeed, we are returning to our Lord.” (Surah Az-Zukhruf, 13-14)
Dua to Recite When Entering a Vehicle (Surah Hud)
It is also important to make the following supplication before entering any vehicle:
Recitation: “…Bismillâhi mecrâhâ wa mursâhā inne rabbî leğafûru’r-rahîm”
Meaning: “…In the name of Allah, is its movement and its halting. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Surah Hud, 41)
