What Does “Vektub Lena Fi Hazihid…” Mean? Surah A’raf (7:156)
Dua (Supplication) is a servant acknowledging their powerlessness before the majesty of Allah and making a loving request for help. The word duā, which carries meanings of “to call” and “to ask,” is an important act of worship encouraged in verses and hadith. Hadiths such as “Fear and hope with O’na dua (supplication).” (Al-A’raf, 7/56) and “There is nothing more honorable before Allah than supplication.” (Tirmidhi, Duawāt, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1) emphasize the importance of prayer.
