Dua to Achieve Victory Over the Enemy

This dua is a powerful supplication recommended in Islamic history to be recited against enemies in times of war. However, it must be remembered that it is not permissible for a Muslim to regard a brother as an enemy and recite this or similar du’as and curse him. Our prayers should always seek goodness and forgiveness, and we must preserve our brotherhood.

Meaning of the Dua

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Beginning with the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, the profound meanings of the supplications are revealed:

  • O Allah, protect me by Your victory, by the severity of Your seizing, by the swiftness of Your help, and by the jealousy and anger You show because of those things which you have made forbidden.
  • Protect those who seek refuge in You with Your verses. O Allah, the Near, the Responsive to supplications, the Quick-Accountant, the Almighty, the Majestic, the Irresistible!
  • It is easy for You to destroy the defiant and obstinate ones of the arrogant, the kings, the Kisras, and the wicked enemies.
  • Let him who lays a trap for me fall into his own trap, turn his trickery against himself, let him who digs a pit for me fall into it, let him who spreads a net for me be caught in it, capture him and make him a prisoner!
  • O Allah, by the right of Kaf-Ha-Ya-Ayn-Sad, help us against fear of enemies. Destroy them, sacrifice them for Your beloved servants, afflict them with calamities soon today and tomorrow.
  • O Allah, scatter their armies. O Allah, disperse their communities. O Allah, reduce their numbers. O Allah, blunt their sharpness. O Allah, rain down calamities upon them. O Allah, send Your torment to them, bind their hands, seize their hearts, and do not let them achieve their goals.
  • Just as You destroyed the enemies of Your prophets, messengers, and friends by helping them, destroy these too. Take vengeance for Your beloved servants just as You take vengeance for us.
  • Do not grant opportunity to our enemies, and do not send them upon us because of our sins. (Repeated seven times: Ha-Mim) The conflict intensified, and help came; now they cannot see help against us. Ha-Mim Ayn-Sin-Kaf is our protection from the things we fear. O Allah, protect us from being negligent, do not make us a place of calamities! Grant us our hopes and aspirations. Yā Hū, Yā Hū, Yā Hū! O Lord of grace, we ask You to accept our supplications urgently, with the shadow of Your generosity. We urgently desire it. O Allah, urgently.
  • O Divine One, grant us acceptance! Accept our supplications just as You accepted the supplication of Our Prophet Noah –peace be upon him-, relieved the distress of Our Prophet Ayub –peace be upon him-, responded to the prayer of Our Prophet Zakariyya –peace be upon him-, and accepted the glorification of Our Prophet Yunus bin Matta –peace be upon him. We ask You to accept our supplications in accordance with the secrets of these acceptances and to grant us what we desire. (Repeated three times: “There is no god but You. I absolve You [of sin]. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-Anbiya, 87) May Your promise to Your believing servants who say this be fulfilled for us, may it be realized.) Allah is Most Great; Allah’s sword will cut them off. Allah is sufficient as a guardian; Allah is sufficient as a helper; Allah suffices us; He is the best of those trusted. Strength and power are only by the help of the Mighty, the Majestic Allah. “And peace upon Noah when he was among those who received guidance.” (Surah As-Saffat, 79) (Repeated three times: Grant us acceptance, accept our supplications!) “Thus did We deal with the people of wrongdoing. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds!” (Surah Al-An’am, 45) “…And thus We made them disappear as if they had never existed.” (Surah Al-Hajj, 47). May Allah send blessings and peace upon Our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions! Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
