Dua for Achieving Victory Against Enemies
This dua is a powerful supplication recommended in Islamic history for use against enemies. However, it must be remembered that it is not permissible to look at a Muslim brother with an enemy’s eye and recite this or similar prayers and curse him. Our prayers should always be made with good intentions, and we must be honest with our brothers.
Meaning of the Dua
Let us begin in the Name of Allah: We begin with the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and seek His mercy.
Text of the Dua
“O Allah, by virtue of Your victory, Your seizing [power], Your help, Your jealousy and anger due to the transgression of forbidden things, and by virtue of You protecting those who seek protection with Your verses, we ask for protection, O Allah, O Karib (the Near One), O Hearing One, O Responder to prayers, O Quick-Seeing One, O Jabar [Compeller], O Mutakabbir [Majestic], O Kahhar [Subduer] and O One whose grasp is severe.
O He who cannot be defied by the fury of the rebellious, O He Who destroys the rebellious obstinacy of kings, Kisras, and deceitful enemies without it being difficult for Him; turn the trap of whoever lays a trap for me back upon him, turn the trickery of whoever deceives me against himself, let the one who digs a pit for me fall into it, O my Lord, may he be brought to that trap, captured and made a prisoner!
O Allah, for the sake of Kaf-ha-ya-ayn-sad [a series of letters in the Quran], help us against the fear of enemies. Destroy them, sacrifice them to Your beloved servants, afflict them with calamities soon and in the near future.
O Allah, shatter their armies. O Allah, disperse their communities. O Allah, reduce their numbers. O Allah, dull their sharpness. O Allah, rain down calamities upon them. O Allah, send Your torment to them, bind their hands, seize their hearts and do not let them achieve their goals. O Allah, just as You destroyed Your enemies by helping Your prophets, messengers, and friends, destroy them in the same way. O Allah, take vengeance for Your beloved servants against their enemies, just as You would take vengeance for us. O Allah, do not give our enemies an opportunity, and do not bring them upon us because of our sins. (Repeated seven times: Ha-Mim) The conflict intensified, and help came; now they will not see help against us. Ha-Mim Ayn-sin-kaf, is our protection from the things we fear. O Allah, protect us from being negligent, do not make us a place of calamities! O Allah, grant us/fulfill our hopes and aspirations. Yā Hū, Yā Hū, Yā Hū! By Your grace, we ask You to accept our prayers urgently. We ask urgently. O Allah, urgently.
Continuation of the Dua
O Divine One, grant us acceptance! O our master Nuh –peace be upon him-, to whom acceptance was granted, O our master Ayyub –peace be upon him-, from whose afflictions relief came, O our master Zekeriyya –peace be upon him-, to whose prayer acceptance was granted, O our master Yunus bin Matta –peace be upon him-, whose glorification was accepted, we ask You to accept these prayers of acceptance and grant us what we seek, by virtue of these accepted prayers. (Repeated three times: “There is no god but You. I absolve You [of all praise]. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-Anbiya, 87) May Your promise to Your believing servants who say this be fulfilled for us, realized.) Allah is the Greatest; Allah’s sword will cut them off. Allah is sufficient as a protector; Allah is sufficient as a helper; Allah is sufficient for me; He is the best of deputies. Strength and power are only by the help of Allah, the Mighty, the Magnificent. “And peace be upon Nuh among all the worlds!” (Surah As-Saffat, 79) (Repeated three times: Grant us acceptance, accept our prayers!) “Thus was the root of the wrongdoing people cut off. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (Surah Al-An’am, 45) “…as We caused [the storm] to pass over them, so that there was nothing to be seen of them except their dwellings. Thus do We punish the wrongdoing people.” (Surah Al-Hajj, 25) May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions!
