The Meaning and Recitation of the Rabbena Heb Lena Prayer (Surah Furqan 74th Verse)

Dua (Supplication) is a servant’s acknowledgement of their powerlessness before Allah’s majesty, expressing love and respect while seeking His grace and assistance. The word “duā” carries meanings such as “to call, to invoke, to desire, and to seek help”; it generally signifies the request made from the lesser to the greater, from the lower to the higher. The act of making dua is praised and encouraged in verses and hadith. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Seek forgiveness and make dua with fear and hope.” (Surah Al-A’raf, 7/56). Another honorable hadith states: “There is nothing more precious than supplication in the sight of Allah.” (Tirmidhi, Du’awat, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1)
