Meaning of the Dua “…Rabbenâ vesi’te kulle şey’in rahmeten ve ilmen fagfir..”

Dua (Supplication) is a servant’s acknowledgement of their helplessness before Allah’s majesty, expressing love and respect while seeking His grace and assistance. The word “duā” carries meanings such as “to call, to invoke, to desire, and to seek help”; it is generally accepted as “a request and entreaty from the lesser to the greater.” Praying has been praised and encouraged in verses of the Quran. We must supplicate to seek refuge in Allah’s (cc) mercy.

“Pray to Him with fear and hope.” (Al-A’raf, 7/56)

“There is nothing more honorable before Allah than supplication.” (Tirmidhi, Duawāt, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1)

Meaning: “…Our Lord! Your mercy and knowledge encompass all things. So forgive those who have turned (in repentance) and followed your path, and protect them from the torment of the Fire! Our Lord! And admit them into the Garden of Adn which You have promised them, and (admit) their parents and their spouses and their offspring; surely You are the Most Mighty, the Truly Wise!”
