The Meaning of the Prayer Mentioned in Surah Al-Mu’minun 97th Verse: “Rabbī E‘ūzu Bike Min Hamazatish Shayāṭīn…”

Dua (Supplication) is a servant’s acknowledgement of their powerlessness before Allah’s majesty, seeking His grace and assistance with feelings of love and reverence. The word “duā” encompasses meanings such as “to call,” “to invoke,” “to desire,” and “to seek help”; it generally expresses the entreaty made from the lesser to the greater, from the inferior to the superior. Making dua is praised and encouraged in verses and hadith. Allah (SWT) says, “Fear Him and hope for His mercy.” (Surah Al-A’raf, 7:56) and “There is nothing more precious than supplication in the sight of Allah.” (Tirmidhi, Adab, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1), which demonstrates the importance of this matter.
