Meaning and Significance of the “Rabbi La Tezerni Ferden” Supplication
Supplication (Du’a) is a slave’s acknowledgement of their helplessness before Allah’s majesty, expressing love and reverence while seeking His grace and assistance. The word “Du’a” encompasses meanings such as “to call, to invoke, to desire, and to seek help”; it is generally accepted as a request and entreaty from the lesser to the greater, from the inferior to the superior. Making supplication is praised and encouraged in the Quran and Hadith. As stated in the verse: “Fear Him and hope for His mercy.” (Al-A’raf 7:56) and in the Hadith: “There is nothing more precious than supplication in the sight of Allah.” (Tirmidhi, Adab, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1), these narrations support this truth.

Verse 89 of Surah Al-Anbiya
Recitation: “…Rabbi lâ tezernî ferden wa ente hayrul vârisîn.”
Meaning: “My Lord, do not leave me alone; surely You are the best of inheritors.” This supplication is a sincere plea to Allah.
