One day, our mother Juvayriyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was sitting in the place where she performed Fajr prayer after praying. Our Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) came out of his house early and when he returned home at dawn, he saw that Lady Juvayriyah was still sitting in the same place:
“Have you been occupied with dhikr since I left?” he asked. When the esteemed mother replied, “Yes,” the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said:
“These four sentences that I recited three times after leaving you will be equal to your dhikr from morning in terms of reward:
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ
(Subhanallah wa bihamdihi adada halkihi wa rida nafsihi wa zinata arshihi wa midada kalimatihi)
“I praise Allah to the number of His creation, as much as He is pleased, with the weight of His Throne and the ink of His words, absolving Him from all imperfection and praising Him.” (Muslim, Dhikr, 79)
