What did the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) do during times of pain?
Osman ibn Abu al-As, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates:
“I mentioned to the Messenger of Allah – peace and blessings be upon him – a pain I had been experiencing in my body since I embraced Islam. He instructed me:
Place your right hand on the part of your body that is aching,
and after saying
3 times:
‘Bismillah’
recite the following supplication 7 times:
‘Eûzü bi-izzetillahi wa kudratihi min şerri mā ecidu wa uhāziru.’
“I seek refuge in the majesty and power of Allah from the evil of what I feel and fear.”
I have performed this many times. The Most High removed the illness from me. I never hesitated to tell my family and others about it.
