Kâ’b bin Ucre -may Allah be pleased with him- narrated:
How to Send Salawat upon the Prophet?
One day, the Messenger of Allah -peace and blessings be upon him- was asked:
“–O Messenger of Allah! We have learned how to greet you, but we do not know how to send salawat.” He then said:
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلٰى (اِبْرٰهِيمَ وَعَلٰى) اٰلِ اِبْرٰهِيمَ ، اِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلٰى مَحَمَّدٍ وَعَلٰى اٰلِ مَحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلٰى (اِبْرٰهِيمَ وَعَلٰى) اٰلِ اِبْرٰهِيمَ ، اِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
“O Allah! Bestow blessings upon Muhammad and his family as You bestowed blessings upon Abraham and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory. O Allah! Grant abundance and blessings upon Muhammad and his family as You granted abundance and blessings upon Abraham and his family. Indeed, You are worthy of praise and glory!”
