Prayers to Recite When Facing Financial Difficulty
Financial hardship is one of the harsh realities of life. However, in Islam, prayers made for such situations provide both spiritual support and a way to seek help from Allah. There is nothing to prevent a person experiencing difficulty with their livelihood from saying the following when leaving their home:
“In the name of Allah, I place my life, property, and religion. O Lord! Make me content with what you provide. Bless me with what is destined for me, so that I may not desire the hastening of what is delayed or the delaying of what is hastened.”
(Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 9323)
This prayer seeks refuge in Allah, requesting His favor regarding sustenance and asking that what is destined arrives with blessing. This is an important indication of acting with patience and trusting in the wisdom of Allah.
Prayers to Recite in Difficult Times
Sometimes life may test you with difficult people or situations. Another prayer that can be recited in such circumstances is as follows: When dealing with a very stingy and envious person, or a tyrannical ruler, or a bad debtor from whom you fear immorality:
“O Lord! You are the absolute conqueror and the absolutely great, and I am Your weak and humble servant. All power and strength belong to You alone. O Lord! Just as You subjugated Pharaoh to Moses, so too subjugate this person to me, and just as You softened iron for David’s hand, soften his heart towards me. He cannot speak without Your permission, and his nape and heart are in Your grasp of power. Your praise is exalted, O Most Merciful of the merciful!”
(Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 16815)
This prayer emphasizes Allah’s absolute power and might, seeking divine help to overcome difficult situations. It also serves as a reminder that even in the face of enemies, there is a source of strength to which one can turn.
