The Messenger of Allah – peace and blessings be upon him – saw a man making supplication without offering salat and salam after prayer. Upon this, he said:
SUPPLICATIONS AFTER PRAYER
“–This man has rushed.” Then he called the man to him and gave the following warning to his entire Ummah:
“–When one of you makes supplication, let him first praise and glorify Allah, then offer salat and salam upon me. After that, he may make supplication as he wishes.” (Tirmidhi, Du’a, 64/3477)
