The Powerful Supplication in Surah Naml Verse 19: “Rabbi Evzı’nî En Eşkure…”

Dua (Supplication) is a servant’s acknowledgement of their powerlessness before the majesty and sublimity of Allah, coupled with feelings of love and reverence, as they seek His grace and assistance. The word ‘dua’ encompasses meanings such as “to call out, to beseech, to desire, and to ask for help,” primarily signifying “the request and entreaty that occurs from the lesser to the greater, from the lower to the higher.” Making dua is praised and encouraged in verses and hadith. “Fear Him and implore Him with hope.” (Al-A’raf 7:56) “There is nothing more honorable before Allah than supplication.” (Tirmidhi, Duawāt, 1; Ibn Majah, Dua, 1)

The Dua “RABBİ EVZI’NÎ EN EŞKURE Nİ’METEKELLETÎ…”

Surah Naml: Verse 19

Recitation: “…Rabbi evzı’nî en eşkure ni’metekelletî en’amte aleyye wa ‘alâ wālidayy wa an a‘malā ṣāliḥan tardhā wa adkhilnī bi rahmatika fī ‘ibādikas ṣāliḥīn.”

Meaning: “…O my Lord! Grant me the ability to be grateful for the blessing You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to perform righteous deeds that You will approve of, and admit me into Your mercy among Your righteous servants.”
