Surahs Recommended by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to Recite Upon Beginning and Completing a Journey.
According to Islamic belief, embarking on a journey requires spiritual preparation as well as seeking Allah’s assistance. Therefore, there are specific prayers and surahs that those traveling can recite. The five surahs recommended for recitation before setting out should be recited with the Noble Bismillah at their beginning and end.

- Kafirun Surah
- Nasr Surah
- Ihlas Surah
- Falaq Surah and
- Nas Surah
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) emphasized the importance of reciting these surahs:
“If you wish to have among your companions one whose disposition is good, and whose provision is abundant when you set out on a journey, O Jubeir, then recite these five surahs: Kafirun, Nasr, Ihlas, Falaq, and Nas. Begin each surah with Bismillah and end it with Bismillah.” (Heysemi, X, 134)
