The Comprehensive Dhikr
Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught the following dhikr to our esteemed mother Hz. Juwayriyah: “The dhikr that encompasses all dhikrs…”
Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) preferred concise yet profoundly meaningful dhikrs and supplications. This dhikr stands out for its ease of recitation and the depth of meaning it contains.
THE DHIKR THAT ENCOMPASSES ALL DHIKRS
One day, after performing Fajr prayer, our mother Juwayriyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was sitting in the place where she had prayed. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) emerged early from his home. When he returned home at midday, he saw that Hz. Juwayriyah was still sitting in the same spot:
“Have you been occupied with dhikr since I left?” he asked. The esteemed mother replied, “Yes.” Upon this, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“The following four sentences, which I recited three times after leaving you, will be equal in reward to the dhikrs you have been reciting from dawn:
“I absolve Allah from all imperfections as much as His creation can number, as much as He is pleased with Himself, according to the weight of His Throne and according to the measure of His everlasting words.” (Muslim, Dhikr, 79)
