How Should a Person Who Believes Their Dua Will Be Accepted Pray?
Rasulullah -peace and blessings be upon him- said one day:
HOW SHOULD WE MAKE DUA (SUPPLICATION)?
“Whenever a Muslim asks Allah for something, as long as he does not ask for something sinful or desire to sever ties with his relatives, Allah Most High will certainly fulfill his request or avert an equivalent amount of evil from him.”
A companion from among the Sahabah (companions) said:
“Then we would ask Allah for a lot!”
The Messenger of Allah -peace and blessings be upon him- replied:
“Allah’s grace is more expansive than what you desire.” (Tirmidhi, Du’awat, 115/3573; Ahmed, III, 18)
The Most High does not reject sincere supplications. However, even with all sincerity, He does not grant certain requests that do not align with the Absolute Decree (Qadar). A person should never despair and continue making dua. In such cases, the response to the prayer has been deferred to the Hereafter. For Allah Most High says:
“…Ask of Me, and I will grant you…” (Al-Mu’minun, 60)
