The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited a beautiful prayer while standing at Waqf during Hajj, some of which is as follows…
Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) held the reins of his camel with one hand and raised the other, making a lengthy supplication expressing the sensitivity of his servitude and the life of his heart. Some of this beautiful prayer is as follows:
WAQF PRAYER
“O Allah! Praise be to You in accordance with Your command and better than what we say! O Allah! My prayer, my worship, my life and my death are for You! My return is only to You!
O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, from whispers that creep into the heart, and from confusion in matters. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of calamities brought by winds!
O Allah! Create light in my sight, light in my hearing, and light in my heart! O Allah! Expand my chest! Ease my task! O Allah! I seek refuge in You from sickness turning into health, sudden torment, and all wrath. Guide me to your straight path! Forgive my past and my future!
O Allah! You are the Raiser of degrees, the Sender of blessings, the Creator of the heavens and the earth! Voices rise to you in various languages, making requests from You! My request is that You remember me in the abode of trial where the people of this world have forgotten me!
O Allah! You hear my words, see where I am, and know what is hidden and manifest about me! Nothing of my affairs is hidden from You! I am helpless, poor, and seek help and safety from You. I fear, I confess my shortcomings! As You wish, so do I wish! As a humiliated sinner begs You, so do I beg! Bowing your neck in Your exalted presence, tears flowing from your eyes for You, sacrificing all that you have for You, prostrating your face to the earth for You – as a servant prays to You, so do I pray! O my Lord! Do not deprive me of the acceptance of my prayer! Be merciful to me, O most generous and most bountiful![1]
What a sincere and concise supplication showing the state of the heart of Allah’s Messenger who is free from sin…
