What Does ‘Eûzu Billâhi En Ekûne Minel Câhîlin’ Mean?
Duʿā (Supplication) is when a servant acknowledges their helplessness before the greatness of Allah and requests His grace and assistance with feelings of love and respect. The meaning of duʿā includes ‘calling, summoning, desiring, and requesting help,’ and it is generally used to describe ‘requests and supplications made from the lesser to the greater, from the lower to the higher.’ Duʿā has been encouraged and its importance emphasized in the Qur’an and ḥadīth.
