Duas to Recite in Times of Financial Difficulty (Ma’ishat)

Many people today struggle with financial hardship. It is possible to overcome this difficulty by seeking refuge in Allah and through supplications (duas). Let’s examine some important duas that can be recited during times of financial difficulty, as mentioned in Sami Efendi’s book, Duas and Dhikr.

First Dua: A Dua to Recite for Financial Provision

There is no harm in a person facing difficulties with their financial provision reciting the following dua when leaving their home:

“In the name of Allah, [for] my soul, my wealth, and my religion. O Lord! Make me content with what I earn. Bless for me that which is destined for me, so that I may not desire the hastening of that which is delayed, nor the delaying of that which is hastened.” (Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 9323)

Second Dua: Hâce Ali Es-Sultanî Dua to Recite in Difficult Situations

When you encounter a very stingy and jealous person, or a tyrannical sultan, or a bad debtor from whom you fear wrongdoing, you can recite the following dua:

“O Lord! You are absolutely dominant and supremely great over everything, and I am Your weak and humble servant. All power and strength belong to You alone. O Lord! Just as You subjugated Pharaoh to Moses, so subjugate this person [mention their name] to me, and just as You softened iron in the hand of David, soften his heart towards me. He cannot speak without Your permission, and his nape and heart are within Your grasp of power. The praise of Your essence is exalted, O Most Merciful of the merciful!” (Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 16815)
