What Prayers are Offered on Friday? What Time is the Hour When Prayers are Accepted on Friday?

According to a narration from Abu Huraira radıyallahu anh, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem said:

“There is an hour on Friday when a Muslim supplicates to Allah with need and his supplication coincides with that hour, then Allah grants what he asks.” He then pointed to the tip of his little finger. (See Nawawi, al-Azkar, 80; Bukhari, Adab, 61)

PRAYERS ON FRIDAY

The accepted hour within Friday is as little time in relation to the day as the tip of the Prophet’s sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem little finger is in relation to his fingertip. Therefore, having one’s prayer accepted is a great opportunity.

The Noble Prophet sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem said:

«İnne yevmel cumüati yevmü îdin ve zikrin.»

“Friday is a day of celebration and remembrance for the believers, when their hearts are filled with joy due to worship and dhikr.” (Suyuti, al-Jami’us Sagir, no: 2519)

Virtues of Surah Kahf

“I give you news of a surah whose greatness fills the space between the heavens and the earth, which seventy thousand angels recite it? That surah is Surah Kahf. Whoever reads this surah on Friday, Allah will forgive him until the next Friday, with an additional three days.”

“And a light will be given to him that reaches the heavens and he will be protected from the tribulation of the Dajjal. Whoever reads the last five verses of this surah when he goes to sleep, he is guarded and can be raised at whatever time he wishes in the night.” (Suyuti, al-Jamiu’s Sagir, no: 2862)

Prayers on Thursday

“O Lord! Bless the work that my community does early on Thursday.” (Tirmidhi, Trade, 41)

As indicated in the narration’s commentary, it is recommended to perform important tasks such as fulfilling a need or contracting marriage at the beginning of this day.

Zilzal Surah and Grave Punishment

“Whoever prays two rak’ahs on Friday; That is, in the night connecting Thursday to Friday, and after reciting Fatiha, recites the Zilzal surah fifteen times, Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave and the terrors of the Resurrection.” (Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 21356)

TIMES WHEN PRAYERS ARE ACCEPTED ON FRIDAY

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem said:

“If supplication is made with this supplication on any hour on Friday, it will surely be answered to the supplicant.”

“There is no god but You. O Hannân, O Mennân, O Creator of the heavens and the earth in the most beautiful way, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor!” (Suyuti, al-Jami’us sagir, no: 7450)

The Prophet sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem said:

“There is an hour on Friday when a believing servant supplicates to Allah and asks Him for something, and if it coincides with that hour, then Allah will surely answer him.” The companions of the Prophet asked: “What time is this hour, O Messenger of Allah?”

“It is the time between the Asr prayer and sunset.” he replied. (Tirmidhi, Friday, 2; Ali al-Muttaqi, no: 21316)
