3 Things Recommended by Hz. Ali (r.a.) When Performing a Rain Prayer
To increase the blessings of rain prayer and ensure Allah’s acceptance, it is important to take examples from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Companions. Hz. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) has conveyed important points to consider when performing a rain prayer.
Hz. Ali (r.a.) said:
- Praise Allah, and mention Him with the praise He deserves! (Al-Imran, 3:4)
- Send blessings and peace upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)! (An-Nur, 24:27)
- Seek forgiveness from Allah! (Az-Zumar, 39:53)
Because going out for rain prayer is a form of seeking forgiveness; it is asking for pardon from Allah. This behavior purifies our hearts and serves as a means for the acceptance of our prayers. (Abdurrazzak, Musannaf, III, 88)
