What is Tevekkeltü Alallah in Qur'anic Verses and Hadiths?
Derived from the root vekl, which in the dictionary means “to trust in Allah,” tawakkul (reliance upon God) refers to entrusting one’s affairs to another, providing assurance, consigning, and trusting. A person who relies on and trusts another is called a mutawakkil, and the one who is relied upon is called a wakīl.

Pronunciation: “Tawakkaltu ʿalāllāh.”
Meaning: “I have relied upon and trusted in Allah.”

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ حَسْبِىَ اللّٰهُ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ
“Bismillāhi, ḥasbiyallāhu tawakkaltu ʿalallāhi, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.”
“In the name of Allah! I have relied upon Allah. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.” This supplication should be recited. (Abū Dāwūd, Adab, 102-103)

اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ. فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ، وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، لَا إلَهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ
“Allāhumma laka aslamtu wa bika āmantu wa ʿalayka tawakkaltu wa ilayka anabtu wa bika khāṣamtu wa ilayka ḥākamtu, faghfir lī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu wa mā asrartu wa mā aʿlantu, anta’l-muqaddimu wa anta’l-muʾakhkhir, lā ilāha illā anta.”
“O Allah! I have submitted to You, I have believed in You, I have relied upon You. I have turned my face and my heart to You, and with Your help I have struggled against my enemies. I have judged by Your Book. Forgive me my past and future sins, what I have concealed and what I have revealed, and what You know better than I.
