The Fruitful Foundations of Marriage

The concept of obedience in marriage holds an important place in Islamic teachings. A woman’s obedience to her husband must be in accordance with God’s will. However, there are limits to this obedience; it is essential that the woman fulfills her own moral and religious responsibilities. The Prophet’s exemplary stories emphasize the importance of obedience while also protecting women’s rights. A woman’s actions such as praying, fasting, and maintaining chastity are important steps on the path to paradise. In a hadith narrated by Imam Ghazali, it is stated that women are seen more often in hell because they are ungrateful to their husbands and deny their kindness. This clearly demonstrates the importance of acting with love, respect, and compassion in marriage.
