The Path to Reaching the Truth of Faith: The Importance of Worship
Sirhindi’s teachings emphasize that worship is not merely about rituals, but also a path to reaching the truth of faith. Worship strengthens inner certainty (içsel güveni) by facilitating inner transformation. Simply stating one’s faith is not enough; it must be translated into action through acts of worship. In this way, a person can successfully navigate the world’s trials and attain mercy in the afterlife. A lack of worship, on the other hand, may cause faith to represent only an external appearance.
Friend and Foe: The True Face of Trial
According to Sirhindi, worldly life is a place of trial. In this trial, it is important to distinguish between friends and foes. The verse in the Quran about mercy encompassing all things contrasts with the verse indicating that on the Day of Judgment, friends and foes will be separated. This situation highlights the necessity of struggling against deceptive demonic influences. Being faithful involves not only connecting with Allah and His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but also constantly striving to avoid straying from the right path. It should be remembered that the accumulation of minor sins can lead to major sins, even disbelief.
