Hadith
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both; The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a gold ring on a man’s hand, removed it, and threw it away. Then he said: “Would any of you take a burning coal to his hand?” After the Prophet left, it was said to that man: – Take your ring and benefit from it appropriately. This person replied: – By Allah, I swear, after the Messenger of Allah threw it away, I will never take it again.

What We Learn
- 1Those who are able should remove evil with their hands. This duty can be obligatory, desirable, sunnah, or permissible depending on a person’s position and status.
- 2Wearing gold rings is forbidden for men.
- 3The Prophet has the authority to make what is halal and haram.
- 4The companions are an exemplary community in following and obeying the Prophet.
