Hadith
It is narrated from Anes (may Allah be pleased with him) that a young man from the tribe of Aslam said: – O Messenger of Allah! I want to participate in war, but I do not have the materials necessary for battle. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: – “Go to so-and-so; he had prepared to go to war, but he became ill.” The young man went to that person and said: – The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sends you greetings and tells you to give the young man the materials you had prepared for battle, leaving nothing behind. By Allah, leave nothing behind so that we may attain blessing.”

What We Learn
- 1A Muslim should always live with a desire for jihad and not think about staying away from it.
- 2Being an intermediary in doing good and striving to achieve goodness is among virtuous deeds.
- 3If a person intends to make an expenditure for a good deed but cannot fulfill it, it is recommended that he direct that expenditure to another good deed. Vows are excluded from this scope.
- 4Being stingy in spending in the way of Allah and in expenditures aimed at doing good diminishes the blessings of wealth.
