Hadith
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the companions from fasting consecutively without breaking their fast, because of compassion for them.” They said, ‘But you do it!’ He replied, “I am not like you. I am fed and given to drink by my Lord during the night.”
Bukhari, Savm 20, 48; Muslim, Siyam 55, 61

What We Learn
  1. 1Visal, meaning fasting consecutively without breaking fast for suhoor and iftar, is not permissible.
  2. 2Some actions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are specific to himself, and it is not permissible for the community to follow or imitate them in such cases.
  3. 3Engaging in behaviors that weaken one’s strength and prevent them from working and performing their acts of worship does not constitute piety or righteousness.
