Hadith
It is narrated by Abu Huraira that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Let none of you, while fasting, use foul language or quarrel. If someone abuses or insults him, he should say, ‘I am fasting.’”

What We Learn
- 1A faster should enter a state of complete abstinence and protect their tongue and other organs from prohibitions.
- 2Although falsehood, gossip, and similar prohibitions do not invalidate the fast, they prevent its merit and reward.
- 3The fast that is valuable in the sight of Allah is the fast observed by someone who succeeds in keeping themselves away from all prohibitions.
